Sometimes you have to let a generic title come to you and do the talking.
But the Detroit Lions haven’t been nearly as passive in NFL free agency. General manager Bob Quinn was working the phones and cap numbers early and often, bringing in the top right tackle on the market for a reported deal worth $9 million per year.
You could say we were inspired here at the Detroit Lions Radio podcast. Since Quinn went big, we decided to go bigger, tapping the ever-reliable Jeff Risdon (Real GM, RedditNFL podcast, and too many other credits to list) to break down this signing with us. He also had a ton of knowledge he brought with him from the NFL Combine and even leveled some judgment about Jabril Peppers, who may be this year’s most polarizing first-rounder.
The guys also broke down what the Ricky Wagner signing meant for the Lions for the next few seasons as well as the rest of free agency. Will they still have enough money to land a big free agent? Should they use that money going after a difference-maker or focus on depth, like they did with linebacker Paul Worrilow?
There’s only one way to find out. So plug in those earbuds, act like you’re working and push play.
