Free agency only brought two signings in the last week. While the guys were sure to address the moves made, they could no longer resist the siren call of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Her song is filled with the college exploits from an unprecedented offering. Pundits have declared this draft to be overflowing with talent and achievement, which should allow general manager Bob Quinn to finish the foundation of his football team.

As you could expect, with so many endearing candidates, the guys had trouble coming to a consensus on where Detroit should ultimately land with the 21st pick. Haason Reddick and Taco Charlton were declared the most likely candidates, but which one is more important to the decimated defense?

The guys also dove into the mock draft database at, which is meticulously curated by Kent Lee Platte. I’m not even sure he looks this stuff up. He’s so deep into the draft that it seems he just knows.

The aforementioned Charlton leads the list as the most-mocked player for the Detroit Lions. However, the second player on the list gave both podcasters pause.

Malik McDowell.

Nobody will argue McDowell’s ability. The guy was on track to be a top-five pick just 365 days ago, but that year has changed the perception of him. Would he be worth such a high pick? Should Detroit gamble again after the Nick Fairley experiment? Look at the Arizona Cardinals. Head coach Bruce Arians already has grumbled about his talented yet troubled defensive linemen, Robert Nkemdiche.
